  • An over-the-shoulder point of view of a color saturated cowboy riding alone toward a desolate hoizon. The Rückenfigur theme, a German art term for a figure seen from behind, and placed inside the scene as a proxy for the viewer,  invites the viewer to identify with the attitude, situation, or perspective of the viewer. Is the Rückencowboy heading off for adventure? Is he on the run? Is he going home? This is the Hermann Rorschach’s proverbial Ink Blot, inviting projection from each individual viewer to experinece and tell their own story.
